Why Spay and Neuter?

The decision to spay or neuter your pet is an important one  for pet owners.  It can be the single best decision you make for his/her long-term welfare.  Getting your pet spayed or neutered can:

  • Reduce the number of homeless pets killed in shelters every day.  There aren't enough homes for them all!

  • Improve your pet's health by avoiding certain cancers:  testicular and prostate in males; ovarian and mammary in females.  Females are also at risk for a condition called Pyrometra, which is an over-abundance of pus in the uterus that increases over time.  All of these conditions left untreated are FATAL; in spayed or neutered pets, they are non-existent.

  • Reduce unruly or undesirable behavior.

  • Save on the cost of pet care.

There are homeless pets everywhere, in every community, in every city, in every state.   The numbers are staggering.  In the U. S., there are an estimated 6-8 million homeless animals entering shelters every year.  Less than half of these animals are adopted.  Tragically, the rest are euthanized. These are healthy, loving pets that would have made great companions.  Uncounted millions die each year as strays; they suffer sickness, automobile injuries/death, fights with other animals, exposure, starvation, and, unfortunately, human cruelty, on the streets of the nation's cities and towns and in forests and fields of the countryside.

Studies showed that one female dog and her descendants can produce as many as 67,000 dogs in 7 years!  A single female cat can produce up to 420,000 offspring in the same time period.   Sadly, most of these animals either die on the streets or are euthanized in shelters.   Spay/neuter is the ONLY PERMANENT, 100% EFFECTIVE METHOD OF BIRTH CONTROL FOR DOGS AND CATS!

Please let us help you find a high-quality, low-cost spay and neuter clinic...all of them are not the same.  And we will help you with the cost!

Don't be part of the problem - be part of the solution...
